GoldFishes Species

Just like its name tells us, the red Ryukin belongs to the Goldfish specie. They are all part of the Cyprinidae family. Goldfishes in general are without a doubt the most popular and requested fishes for home and domestic aquariums.

The red goldfishes  are simply because they are hardy, easy to maintain and truly amazing fishes that won’t generate too much trouble and that will also add bright colors and unique shapes to your fish tank. In the case of the Ryukin, we are talking about fishes that come from the Eastern region of Asia, more specifically the Ryukin Islands in Japan (from which they take up their names).

These fishes are a variation of the generic Ryukin goldfishes and are distinctive for their red color. Like most of goldfishes, they are omnivorous animals who require a varied and diverse diet that includes numerous aliments such as dried and live food. There are many products in the market that are ideal for these fishes. They are also peaceful animals that like to live in communities. Even though they can get to be large fishes when adults (up to twenty one centimeters in length), they are really easy to keep and resistant to different types of conditions.
