Killifish are freshwater fishes that are found in different families such as the Cyprinodontidae, the Fundulidae, the Aplocheilidae, the Rivulidae, the Valenciidae and the Profundulidae ones. Among these families you can find almost 1300 species of killifish.

The Killifish are always small and truly colorful fishes that won’t surpass 5 centimeters in length. They are found in different territories and regions, especially in America (from Canada to Argentina), southern Europe, the southern regions of Asia and Africa as well.

Killifishes lay eggs and are therefore oviparous fishes. They are mostly fed with insects, worms and small organisms. They are peaceful and easy to keep animals but sometimes they may show varied behavior and become aggressive under certain circumstances.
