Guppy Aquarium
Among the thousands and thousands of different fish species we find one that is definitely attractive and eye catching no matter the size of its members. We are referring to the gorgeous Guppy fishes, a really tiny and yet amazing specie that should be in every fish tank out there. We are glad to invite you to read the following lines and find through them some useful information about these lovely creatures.
Guppy fishes belong to the Poeciliidae family and are freshwater fishes. They are extremely popular and distinctive not only for their beautiful colors but also for their tiny size, reaching males only up to 3 centimeters long and females up to 6 centimeters long. They also have precious fins that are normally quite big in comparison with the rest of the body and they usually look deeply beautiful and eye catching. They are mostly found in tropical areas, especially in South American and Caribbean rivers and freshwater environments.
These fishes are live bearers, which means that they hold inside the eggs and release living fishes once they are born. Plus, they are normally peaceful animals that can stand different ambiences, but sometimes males can become aggressive with each others and engage in fin biting. Finally, they are omnivorous animals and can be fed with a variety of different fish products, becoming therefore truly easy to maintain.
However, remember that this should never mean for you to forget about them. They require the same care that other fishes but are much more resistant to different conditions.
