Information About Discus

Discus fishes belong to freshwater environments, and they are cichlid fishes that can be grouped into three different species: the red discus, the blue discus and the Symphysodon tarzoo specie. They are mostly spread in the Amazonian area, across the countries of Peru, Colombia and Brazil. The tropical ecosystem in which they live is in part responsible of the huge variety of colors existing.

They are believed to be among the most delicate fishes and this is why they need constant attention and optimal conditions to live in.
