There is no real need to describe Clownfish. After the Finding Nemo movie they have become some of the most popular and requested fishes among children but also among adults who love beautiful and colorful fishes. Of course, thanks to their vibrant colors, Clownfish can easily lighten up any aquarium and add a lot of life to it even though these are rather small fishes. However, many people choose these fishes without even knowing which are their specific needs and this can rapidly lead into confusion and several complications. Learning which aliments and nutrients are extremely important for a Clownfish is only a small part of all the things you need to take into account. However, it is a certainly important one.
We should begin saying that Clownfishes are saltwater fishes, which means that they are only found in cold waters. This is certainly an important detail that you will have to consider when setting up the aquarium conditions but also regarding the diet that you will provide these fishes with. Clownfishes are omnivore eaters and most fish experts recommend to feed them on a varied diet basis that includes different types of aliments. Meat is important for them but so are vegetables and, above all, algae that are easily found.
As you probably can imagine, the market is crowded with food for Clownfish and similar species. This is great because it can be used by you as a way of actually learning which the specific aliments they need are. However, you should always take into account that they are fresh instead of due because Clownfish are really fragile and also can easily get picky about the flavor of their food. Clownfish can be fed with pellets, frozen food, granules, flakes and others and we believe that the bigger the variety of aliments you provide them with, the more these fishes will eat and the best they will feel.
