Small Fish Tanks
Each fish breed has its own peculiar characteristics and this determines specific living conditions, as well as specific food, mates and a specific overall environment. Of course, it is not sensitive at all to place large fishes in small containers, or aggressive fish breeds alongside passive ones. In the end, it is all about providing our beautiful aquatic fellows the best living conditions that can assure them a longer and happier life.
In the case of the gorgeous Betta fishes, these needs are quite important. Since they are aggressive fishes, it is inappropriate to put males and females together, except for the case of reproduction (which should be supervised by a professional), while it is possible to put males and females together by sex. However, they should never be placed alongside other fish species unless you are definitely sure about their cohabitation.
But above all, the most important thing to say about Bettas is something that is a popular belief and that is not always correct. Betta fishes are usually put in really small containers (such as vases) and fish tanks and even though they can survive better than other fish species, they should always be provided with spacey and comfortable places where to swim and live.
Finally, Betta fishes also require constant care in terms of the freshness of the water and you should take into account that keeping a fish tank at home is not only about the decoration, but also and especially about creating comfortable spaces for your fishes.
