Fish Species
Barb fishes are alongside goldfishes some of the most popular fishes that are normally kept in aquariums. Both of them belong to the Cyprinidae family and if we have to talk about Barb species you will easily see that there numerous of them, being the Tiger Barb, the Shortfin Barb and the Congo Barb among the commonest ones. They are really easy to keep since they can adapt to different conditions and may be feed with different types of food. This however should not mean that you may not care for them. They require the same attention and protection as any other type of fish.
Other things to take into consideration when it comes to barb fishes is that they must preferably be kept in groups of over five or eight fishes since they are schooling species, which means that need to live alongside other companions of the same species. Plus, you should also know that some Barb species are more aggressive than others and should therefore never be kept together.
